Guard Your Grins – Mouthguard Prevention Program

Sports are important to the health and development of our youth, but many kids and families aren’t aware that playing any sport carries a risk of traumatic dental injury, or they can’t afford to purchase quality protective equipment. To address this need, AzDA Cares launched Guard Your Grins in 2025.

Guard Your Grins will visit Title I schools and youth sports clubs in underserved communities to provide dental safety education to adolescents and custom-fitted mouthguards at no cost to their families. Custom-fitted mouthguards have been shown to reduce the risk of dental injuries, which can be very costly to treat and significantly interfere with a child’s quality of life. Throughout the year, AzDA Cares aims to visit 50 schools and youth sports clubs across Arizona, providing mouthguards and oral safety education to approximately 500 individuals.
